Developmental Assets Lists Based on Ages
The 40 Developmental Assets' lists are based on the concept from the Search Institute that children need certain assets to thrive, not just survive. The lists serve as a rich resource for parents and teachers to look at the assets strengths of a child and adolescent and where might some weaknesses be evident. Adults can serve as asset builders in the areas of family support, community involvement, recreation and education, among other areas of a child's life. Take a look at the lists below and use them as a tool to assess how your child/adolescent or student in the classroom is thriving or simply surviving.
